On his very first visit to the Austrian capital of Vienna, the Master stayed in a lively district not far from the regular Satsang venue, where the small local Sangat (meditation group) gathers every Tuesday. With great joy, he visited this familiar Satsang (discourse of Truth) room — and many disciples of Sant Thakar Singh, who are now drawn to Sant Khem Singh, came together in love and devotion.
Two beautiful and intimate Satsangs were held, followed by a larger public gathering in a nearby building, where over 100 people attended and 20 souls were initiated into the practice of Shabd Yoga, inner Light and Sound meditation. It was a blessed time for Vienna.
During his stay, the Sangat lovingly took the Master to the famous Schönbrunn Palace Gardens, once built by the royal Habsburg family — the very heart of Austria’s imperial past. The Master walked through the lush paths, visiting the Gloriette, and the palace of Empress Elisabeth (Sissi), Emperor Franz Josef, and the famous Maria Theresia.
The day was radiant. The Master expressed his awe that there once existed an empire so vast, where “the sun never set”. And now, while the emperors and kings are gone, their monuments remain — like echoes of a time past, just as the Taj Mahal echoes a different empire’s legacy of love and beauty. Faces lit up with wonder and reflection.
With deep gratitude, the Master thanked the many people who made this journey possible — from Hamburg, Lübeck, and Munich, through Hungary, and finally to Vienna — and back to India.
With hearts full of love, we bid him farewell.
He smiled and said: “I look forward to returning very soon.”
